She was one of three reciprocates to receive a P D James’ writers bursary and studied children’s fiction and writing for children at King Alfred’s University College. Her first hymns and songs were published in ’Reflecting Praise’ in 1993 with Stainer & Bell Ltd, a hymnbook championing women’s contributions to hymnody. Ruthie's children’s novel ‘Ruby Tucker’ was published in 2008 to favourable reviews. Check out the Welsh Council’s book review on GWALES for her latest book ‘Different’.
In 2011 Ruthie released the CD Heaven Direct with musician and producer John Hamilton at E Q Studios. The thought- provoking inner sleeve liner notes are provided by hymnodist, Dr. Gillian Warson. Read listeners comments and news from Ruthie’s artist profile on Cross Rhythms. For churches, choirs and schools with a Christian Copyright License from CCLI, songs, hymn words and music may be accessed from their website under the name Ruth Thomas or Stainer & Bell publishers.
Ruthie’s innovative sessions at churches, schools and meetings are always inspirational.

'The story of Hester Henry is unique - a refreshing alternative to the usual format of spells, witches and warlocks found in popular children's fiction. It would do well on a bookclub list. Surely it will stir up questions if you have any link at all to a Black Pentecostal Church.'
Patricia Earle-Andrews
Co-ordinator of Black Caribbean Achievement Project, Cardiff, Wales.
